Marc-André Barriault will fight Jun Yong Park in South Korea for his third UFC bout. The fighter from Quebec will try to get his first UFC win on the December 21 card in Busan.
Barriault was not able to secure a win in his two first UFC fights. He lost by decision in his debut against Andrew Sanchez in a very close fight. He almost finished Sanchez in the second round but it still wasn’t enough.. After that, he lost his second outing by split decision to Krzysztof Jotko at UFC 240 in Edmonton.
The Quebecer will finally get the chance to fight an opponent with similar experience. Jun Yong Park has a 10-4 MMA record and lost his inly UFC bout to Anthony Hernandez. Unlike Sanchez and Jotko, he is very far from the top 20.
The Korean will still be a good test for Barriault. Before his UFC debut, he was on a 7 fight winning streak. He defeated PFL standout Ray Cooper III and never lost by KO or TKO in his pro career.
The Barriault vs Park fight will be on the undercard of the UFC on ESPN+ 23 on December 21. The main event of the card from South Korea opposes local favorite Korean Zombie to returning Brian Ortega.
