Two fighters from Quebec have come to terms with the promotion from British Columbia Battlefield Fight League. In fact, Jade Masson-Wong and Julien Leblanc have signed with BFL and will fight on the February 8 card.
Jade Masson-Wong was the first to announce her signing on social media. She did not divulge which promotion she was signing with but a simple zoom on the photo she posted revealed it was BFL. Therefore, she will be headed to Western Canada in the beginning of 2020 for her next fight.
She will try to get back in the win column as she suffered her first pro loss at TKO 48 against Mandy Bohm. The fight was the first ever Women’s championship bout in the promotion’s history. Before that, Masson-Wong collected a 3-0 pro record with notable wins over Corinne Laframboise and Maggie Poulin. Her opponent for her BFL debut should be announced soon.
As for Julien Leblanc, he has not fought since a décision loss to Damien Lapilus in September 2018. He cut down to 170 for that fight and it turned out to be a bad idea as he did not have the energy to compete. Since then, Leblanc has been booked in many fight that fell through. In fact, Leblanc has seen no less than 6 fights cancelled since the beginning of 2018. A visit on his Tapology page shows 10 other cancelled fights from 2013 to 2017. That means a total of 16 documented fights that didn’t happen for Leblanc since the beginning of his pro career.
Let’s just hope that this time is the right one for Leblanc who has been ready to fight for a while. It’s the reason why he signed a deal with BFL as they offered him a fight in early 2020. MMA Talk cannot announce his opponent yet but it should be announced soon enough.
We will keep you updated whenever Jade Masson-Wong’s and Julien Leblanc’s opponents are announced by BFL.
