The TKO 49 card that was planned for October 9 is postponed. The promotion officially announced the news yesterday on its Facebook page.
The news was already confirmed by MMA Talk and even La voix des guerriers earlier in the week. Some fighters form the card even started to announce the postponement on their social medias.
A health scare to TKO’s predisent Stephane Patry caused the pushing back of the event. In fact, he was hospitalized with pulmonary embolism on the weekend of September 28. He since was released from the hospital but he is on a forced medical break for at least two weeks.
Since the event was supposed to happen on October 9, it didn’t leave enough time for the president to take care of everything. He was then forced to push the event back.
Sadly, it’s becoming a common sight for TKO in 2019. After the TKO 46 saga, where the card was pushed back and then cancelled altogether, they lost the TKO 47 main event on the day of the fight.
The TKO 48 card went well, but it seems like issues are not over as the TKO 49 card is now suffering from a postponement. I spoke about the situation in length on this week’s Faber Cast (it’s in french though).
We still don’t know when will the TKO 49 card take place, but we are expecting an announcement early this week. MMA Talk will keep you in touch as this story develops.
