“The Black Beast” Derrick Lewis is back and he will fight Blagoy Ivanov at UFC 244. The card will take place on November 2 at the world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York City. ESPN first reported the booking.
Lewis will try to bounce back from a 2 fight loosing streak. He was last defeated by Junior Dos Santos in early March of 2019. He also lost to Daniel Cormier in a title fight in late 2018. After the JDS fight, Lewis got a surgery on his torn ACL. He has made quite a speedy recovery as he will be back in action less than 8 months after the surgery.
Blagoy Ivanov is on the opposite path as he is on a 2 fight winning streak. The Bulgarian Heavyweight defeated Ben Rothwell and Tai Tuivasa after loosing his UFC debut to Dos Santos. Those wins helped Ivanov make his way into the Top 15 of MMA Talk’s MMA World Rankings at number 12.
The Derrick Lewis vs Blagoy Ivanov fight is presently the only confirmed bout for the UFC 244 card in New York City. MMA Talk will keep you updated whenever more fights are added to the November 2 card.
